Artists' ![]() On Saturday, 8 September 2007 at 6pm at the Villa Waldberta Can Europe be regarded as a home? Isn't an entire continent much too vast to evoke feelings that actually remind of a home? Or is it rather about a common feeling composed of various elements? So far, so good ... Five artists from five different countries are our current guests at the international artists' residence of the city of Munich, invited in the scope of this years' EU project "open here: consTRUCKtions - conNEXTions", run by the Department of Arts and Culture in the context of the topic of migration in Europe. At this slightly different version of a "Heimatabend" at Villa Waldberta Martin Janicek from Prague, Hamish McLain from Liverpool, Theräs Reich from Berlin, Stefanos Pavlakis from Athens and Edgar Lliuya from Vienna will present themselves, their roots and origins but also their very individual access to arts and culture. We will open our doors for interested visitors. There will be movies, slide shows and music, performances and - last but not least - food and drinks. This party at Villa Waldberta will be the milestone for the final stage of this EU project. Dr. Hans-Georg Küppers, Head of the Department of Arts and Culture, will make an opening speech at 7pm. Concept and organisation: Karin Sommer. Admission free!
