In the scope of the international project open here: consTRUCKtions - conNEXTions, the festival SOHO IN OTTAKRING 07 will have a trans-cultural focus with curated activities in the fields of music, film, performance and literature.
The major part of the project will be the trip of a truck made by the Munich artist Judith Egger and a small artistic team. The truck serves as a means of transportation, mobile archive, place of international encounters and artistic interaction.

Just in time for the opening of the festival SOHO IN OTTAKRING, the truck's first stop will be the Brunnenviertel from 19 until 22 May.

Opening:
Saturday, 19 May 2007, 5pm - 12 pm

Opening hours of the projects and exhibitions
20 May - 2 June 2007, Tuesday - Sunday 5pm - 9pm

Brunnengasse 66, clock at the shop Merve Tesettür (clothing for covered women)
The clock is going to be the starting point of tales about time and change.
A sound installation by Hanna Esezobor und Tatia Skhirtladze

Neulerchenfelderstrasse 8/ Schaufenster
hellwach - bei Gewalt an Frauen
In the middle of the Brunnenviertel you will find the big hellwach (awake)-illuminated panel. It signals the message of hellwach (awake) - in case of violence to women, observe you - we observe you - we observe. Visible day and night.
In the urban area there is next to no indication to the fact that we are facing acts of violence against women and children in households. However, every 5th woman is suffering from physical violence by a man (mostly her partner). It is interesting to focus on the interaction of art, social affairs and politics revealing a societal and political, patriarchal problem in public space.
A project by Carla Knapp and Angela Zwettler

Baustellenwand Osei, Brunnengasse 40/ Grundsteingasse
vis á vis
work in progress - an exhibition at the Brunnenmarkt
How does a booth owner at Brunnenmarkt perceive his vis-à-vis? Is there any neighbourhood relationship? Does the catchword of lived integration match?
Vis-à-vis is a snapshot, a mosaic, a patchwork - en passant" from pictures, writing and language looking for the meaning of the market with this markets' booth owners.
